It was a fresh new day in Littleroot town. The small town was located in the beautiful and highly tropical Hoenn region. The region of Hoenn housed many pokemon in its unique eco systems. From warm and vibrant islands and jungles to the rough and brutal deserts and volcanoes it was truly an adventurer's dream. And Littleroot was no exception. Housing the Hoenn regions pokemon professor. Professor Birch. Birch was an expert in pokemon's ecosystems and how pokemon lived. He is famous for his field work. He is also responsible for handing out starting pokemon to new trainers. Two new trainers were set to get their new pokemon today in fact. One was the professors highly inelegant and skilled daughter May Birch. The other was their neighbors. Having only moved in a few days ago from the far Johto region they quickly became good friends. The second trainer was a young boy named Brendan. He was a happy and energetic boy who was rather clever and productive in his behavior. His skills could have very well come from his father. Norman. Normal was the Petalburg city gym leader and one of the strongest gym leaders around with his Slaking. Both mothers and fathers of both kids had all the faith their kids would do well. And very soon they would be able to choose their pokemon and begin their journeys.

"Hmm ok. So I could go Treecko, Torchic or Mudkip?" A young boy of about sixteen asks himself while clicking on a desktop. He had brown hair under a white beanie, grey shorts and a red and white shirt. He was skinny and sitting next to him where some sneakers and a green backpack. "If I take Mudkip I will have a big weakness to grass types. But Torchic isn't very good until it reaches Combusken. But that could be harder to train. Then there is Treecko. Hmm fast and a heavy hitter. But he could be too troublesome. Treecko tend to be prideful." He messes up his hair and beanie in frustration. "This is so hard!" He yells.

"Brendan are you ok?" A voice calls out from below.

"Yes mum I am fine." Brendan replies. "Just trying to pick which pokemon I should take." While he speaks his mother walks up and into his room. She was tall with blue eyes and silky brown hair.

"Much like your father. When he was deciding his gym team he was indecisive as anything. Took him two weeks to determine the Slaking line would be best. But then he had that other set for back up." She laughs. "Anyway Brendan you should head off to the lab soon. I believe May was already there." Brendan looks up at his mother surprised.

"Already?!" He yells as he jumps, puts on his shoes and grabs his bag running down stairs. Without a moment's hesitation he bursts outside and begins running across the green grassy fields. Littleroot town was fairly barren. It had a small population of only three hundred people. It had merely a small single maned pokemon center with a pokemart in the middle of town selling basic items. It was funny being one of the smallest towns and yet it's where the professor had his lab. The lab was about a five minute walk from Brendan's house. It was a large multi story building with pens out back containing various pokemon. With a burst of enthusiasm Brendan ran up to the large automated glass doors and walked in. There was a woman at a front reception like desk who greeted him.

"Brendan isn't it?" She asked. Brendan nodded.

"Yea that's me." He said excitedly.

"Down the hall to the right. The professor is waiting for you." She smiles pointing where he needs to go.

"Thank you." He says as he sprints towards the designated door full of energy.

As Brendan burst into the room Professor Birch and May where standing there.

"Glad you could make it." He says with a hefty laugh. The professor was a fairly large man with a cheery smile and usually dusty lab coat from field work. May was a young girl about 16 like Brendan. She had her hair parted to the sides by a bandanna and wore similar clothing to Brendan but more feminine in look.

"Yea I made it. I couldn't wait to get my first pokemon." He says with the excitement of a child. Birch just smirks.

"Well May already got hers. But you will have the same selection. You see around this time we get numerous trainers coming in. So I had sent out for three of every Hoenn region starter pokemon. These three here where put aside for you Brendan." He releasing all three from their balls. A bright flash happened and then three pokemon stood in front of them. "As you likely already know these are." Before Birch could explain Brendan interrupted him.

"Mudkip, Treecko and Torchic. I know. But wait?" He says looking the three pokemon over. "Aren't Treecko meant to be green?" He asks and the three look down at Treecko. Brendan was right. This Treecko wasn't green. It was blue with a red tail. They looked at the other two. Mudkip was blue with its orange fin and Torchic had its orange and yellow feathers.

"Wow. It must be a mutation of sorts in its pigment." Birch said examining it with glee.

"Treecko." It said cheerfully. Between its unique coloring and cheerful nature Brendan was taken in.

"Can I have that one?" He asks grinning. Birch smirks.

"Well it was one of the available pokemon. Sure you can." He hands Brendan the pokeball.

"Treecko you're coming with me." He says returning it. Treecko nods as it is pulled back into the pokeball in a shade of red light.

"Here take this too." Birch says handing him a pokedex. "This will help you keep track of your pokemon and have all the data you need on them."

"Thanks so much." Brendan says putting it in his bag. "I can't wait to head off. I am gonna go tell mum right now!" He jumps with joy and runs out. "Thanks again." He says waving. Birch and May laugh seeing their energetic neighbor run off home. It didn't take long for him to reach the door and be rushed in. "Mum I did. I got my pokemon and now I can go on my journey and get all the badges and." He pauses for a quick breath.

"Whoa whoa calm down. So you got your first pokemon?" She asks calmly.

"Yea take a look." Brendan says letting Treecko out. His mother looks at it curiously.

"This is a Treecko? I thought they were green?" She asks curiously.

"Professor Birch says it's a mutation of sorts. He said it was a one in a million." He smiles.

"Well that's amazing. So you want to start your journey?" Brendan nods enthusiastically. "Well I knew you would. Tell you what. Oldale town is the next town over. It's a bit over a day's walk. So if you truly wanted to leave today and you went all the way and camped out overnight. You could reach there by tomorrow morning." She says with a trusting smile.

"Really mum?" Brendan asks wide eyed.

"Yes Brendan. Over there on that desk. It holds a sleeping bag, some food and your PokeNav. Me and your dad got these for you prepared knowing you would leave soon." he smiles gently. With a grin Brendan puts it all into his bag and hugs his mother.

"Thank you. I will call you when I get to Oldale. And when I am with dad." He says returning Treecko to its pokeball. "Let's go!" He yells running out. His mother smiles as he runs off.

"Like his father." She says closing the door.

Brendan wasted no time. He had only had his pokemon an hour and he was leaving. He run up to the town border and leaped over. Full of joy he began sprinting down the road as he passed the sign saying 'Oldale town' with an up pointing arrow. After a whole hour of running he was completely worn out.

"Ok." He pants. "Might have overdone it a little." He says sitting down. He looked around at the area as he rested by a tree. "not much around." He says before something catches his eye. A small creature darted by.

"Zig!" It says as it stops nearby to stare at him.

"Oh? A Zigzagoon!" He says excitedly pulling out his pokedex.

"Zigzagoon the tiny raccoon pokemon. The hair on Zigzagoon's back is bristly. It rubs the hard back hair against trees to leave its territorial markings. This Pokémon may play dead to fool foes in battle." The pokedex says.

"Wow. A Zigzagoon. This will be a perfect first battle and capture...." Brendan stops himself mid sentence. "No!" He yells. "I forgot pokeballs." He collapses to the ground sulking. But as he does this he feels a gust of wind on his back and turns. A large metal bird pokemon stood there with a box around its neck. Brendan stared at it for a moment.

"Skar." I chirps and hints to the box. Brendan opens it and finds five pokeballs and a potion inside. A note accompanies it. It reads. Brendan you ran off before we could give you these. Hope they help. From Professor Birch.

"He did have things for me." Brendan says cheerfully. "Wait that pokemon." He pulls out his pokedex.

"Skarmory the armor bird pokemon. Skarmory is entirely encased in hard, protective armor. This Pokémon flies at close to 190 mph. It slashes foes with its wings that possess sword like cutting edges." It explains.

"Wow a steel flying type." Brendan says admiring the bird. "Wait the Zigzagoon!" He says jumping up. Looking around he notices it's gone. "Oh." When he turns back Skarmory is gone too. "Oh really?" He sulks for a minute and keeps walking. As he walks along he suddenly steps on a twig and when it snaps another Zigzagoon jumps out of the bushes.

"Zagoon!" It growls.

"Yes another Zigzagoon. Ok let's go for our first battle." He says excitedly. "Go Treecko!" He says throwing the ball. Treecko appears in a flash of light.

"Treecko." It says calmly.

"Ok Treecko let's do this. Use pound!" He orders. Treecko leaps forward and with its tail hits the Zigzagoon. The tiny pokemon flies back and charges forward hitting him with a headbutt. "Ok now use absorb." Treeckos body began to have a green glow and a beam shot out hitting Zigzagoon. It growled and when the beam broke Treecko was restored. "Ok now pound one more time." But before Treecko could hit the Zigzagoon flung sand using sand attack and retreated.

"Treecko?" The grass type says looking around.

"Oh it got away." Brendan kicked a rock. "Well guess we should keep going. No point staying around." He sighs. Treecko rolls its eyes and walks with him. "Damn it. Our first battle didn't go so well. But we didn't lose at least. I would say we won." He says smiling. The Treecko shakes its head.

"Hey you?" A voice calls from the left. Brendan and Treecko look over.

"Who's there?" He asks.

"A fellow trainer." Says a boy wearing a black beanie and jacket with navy jeans. "I'm James." He smiles.

"Brendan." He replies.

"So I say you battle that Zigzagoon. And I was wondering are you new?"

"As in a new trainer? Yea. That obvious." He says with a blush.

"It's no worries. I have only had my pokemon about a week. Care to battle I recently caught this one and wanna test him out?" He asks holding up a pokeball.

"Sure!" Brendan says excited. "Ready Treecko." Treecko looks hesitant and nods.

"Ok so one on one." James says throwing the ball. "Lilipup come on out!" With a burst of light the small puppy pokemon appears.

"Pup pup!" It barks.

"It's cute." Brendan smiles. "Ok Treecko let's go."

"Tree." It says leaping forward.

"Why's he look like that?" James asks.

"He's a special Treecko. One in a million." Brendan smirks.

"Well lets find out. Lilipup use tackle." The small pup charges forward and slams into Treecko.

"Treecko!" Brendan says surprised by its speed. "Ok use leer." With this Treecko stared at it with piercing eyes.

"Dodge and use growl!" With this Lilipup dodges and lets out a sharp growl. Treecko holds its ears for a moment. "Now use tackle!" He instructs.

"Lili!" The puppy pokemon flies forward and slams into Treecko. Treecko pulls itself up with an annoyed snarl.

"Oh um." Brendan thinks. "Use ugh. Pound." He says nervously. Feeling like it must obey Treecko lashes forward and hits with its tail. Lilipup takes the hit but shows little damage.

"No good." James smirks. "Now use tackle!" With this command Lilipup slams into Treecko and the grass type flies back and goes limp.

"We did it!" James and Lilipup cheer. "Wait. Will he be ok?" He asks Brendan. Brendan lifts Treecko and looks at its annoyed eyes.

"He will be fine." Brendan says spraying him with the potion. Shortly after he was standing again. "That was a good battle. Hopefully we can see you again sometime?" Brendan says walking off as Treecko walked with him.

"Yea. See you soon Brendan!" He waves happily. Treecko looked agitated. So annoyed it took its own pokeball and returned itself. Brendan caught the ball before it hit the ground and let out a heavy sigh.

"What a start." He says annoyed as he keeps walking. Brendan was lost in thought as he walked for several hours. He soon looked up and noticed it was getting dark. "Night hits early I suppose." He says with a sigh as he starts to set up camp in a secluded spot. He sets up the sleeping bag and pulls out some of the food. Fresh cooked pastries and small pies. He licks his lips before thinking about Treecko. Pulling up the pokeball he lets out his partner. "Hungry?" He asks handing him a pie. The Treecko looks around and back at him. It takes the pie and nibbles on it. "It's a bit cold." Brendan says pulling out a small heat lamp. Turning it on he lays next to it. "Sorry." He says seeming upset.

"Treecko." Treecko replies shaking his hand as if to say don't worry about it. Brendan smiles.

"Sorry I just wasn't sure." He sighs. "Oh well live and learn." He says shaking the loss off. Treecko looks around and finishes the pie. It gets a devilish smirk as it looks back at him.

"Tree." It says sitting up on his chest.

"Ogh." Brendan moans as his pokemon suddenly sat on him. "Yea Treecko?" He asks a bit confused as he looks down at his pokemons big, bright yellow eyes.

"Cko." It says staring back into Brendan's as its eyes begin to change. The right one fills with colours. Blue, yellow and green while the left does the same but yellow, green and blue. Brendan gasps as he stares into the glowing colours. "Treecko." The pokemon says with a smirk as it gently sways its head. Brendan's jaw drops gently as his eyes follows his pokemons. After a few seconds his fill with the same colours.

"Treecko?" He asks weakly and dizzy. The Treecko just smirks and moves closer. As it does the rings pick up in speed and this drives Brendan mad. His eyes burst with colours and he is quickly at their mercy. After a few moments the young trainers body goes limp as his lips form a goofy grin. His eyes continue to pulse and as Treecko stops his own his trainers continue. Brendan is soon laying back with eyes wide open and filled with colored rings and a silly grin. Treecko grins and seems to laugh. Going into Brendan's bag he pulls out the pokedex and pokenav. Starting both up he looks around and after a few minutes smiles and puts them away.

"Cko. Treecko." It says laying on Brendan's chest. Having its trainer happily hypnotized and deeply asleep it dozed off on his belly. This really would make you consider who was the trainer here. And who was the one in control.
The first part of a new pokemon hypnosis series I am starting. This story will be an AU (Alternative Universe) to the ORAS story line. In this pokemon Trainer Brendan (With the canon of being the player version with Norman as father) obtains his first pokemon. He cannot believe his luck at getting a Treecko which looks different? Instead of being green it is blue. Brendan takes his new Treecko and May her Torchic. But on their first night camping Brendan learns his Treecko is even more special then he once thought. And with some more interesting abilities.
This series will hopefully be out on a weekly basis. But for now I am working all that out :P
The more people like it the more consitent I will be. So please leave your support and comments ^^

All characters and locations in this belong to Nintendo and Game Freak

I'm gonna be frank about this. I like the concept of the series(always up for some good hypnosis, especially in something like pokemon), I like how you took a unique approach to what Pokemon is doing it, and I like how the main character's name is something as, not to seem rude, bland/generic as Brendan.

But I do have a question. Is Brendan actually going to be in control of anyone who is hypnotized, or no?
